Pocket Informant

Webis has just announced that they are indeed moving their popular PIM Suite “Pocket Informant” to the iPhone.

The work is still in the alpha stage, but first screenshots show a promising application that will make the iPhone one of the best productivity tools in your arsenal.

The features include (but are not limited to)

  • Integrated User Interface for Calendar, Tasks, Contacts and Search
  • Category Colors and Icons
  • Over the Air Synchronisation
  • Full Featured Task Management
  • Smart Grouping
  • Calendar with Agenda, Day, Week and Monthly Overviews
  • Zoom, Slide and Drag and drop of appointments
  • Coverflow Contact
  • Synchronisation with Outlook and other applications using SyncML

Overall, we think this is a great move and good news for anyone looking for iPhone  applications for business and personal productivity.

Taking screenshots from the iPhone

One way to take an iPhone screenshot is described nicely over here, but the guy missed another way involving the SDK that can be downloaded from Apple.

The second method is described here.

Although the second method sounds (and is) more difficult and in need of a mac with the iPhone SDK, it allows you to take screenshots of everything, call windows and lock window included.
